Now if there was a way to reliably convert voicemail into text and e-mail it to me, I think it would solve almost all problems.
I hate having to wait to listen to a message only to replay it again to pick up the important details that I didn't get the first time through.

I'd still not get voicemail at work. I think it's a bad thing in general. But I would like to get that on my cell phone. I know there are some services out there but it's not easy enough. If there is one thing I hate more then getting sent to voicemail it's having to receive it!

Yes, I love when people actually answer their phones, but if it goes to voice mail it's not a big deal. People will get back to you... they didn't answer their phone for a reason, they could have been busy with clients, in a meeting, in the bathroom, driving, at the movies, eating with the family... whatever the case may be, nobody just says "i'll let my voicemail get it" just for the pure fun of having a fancy machine do it for them.
Not everyone is as 'connected' as us. Both you and I have facebook, twitter, myspace, blogs, txt msging, multiple email accounts all sent to our blackberries/iphones... either that or we have mail.app running, or the gmail notifier running. My mom only checks her email once a day... my brother once every two days. We just need to practice patience with these 'normal' people haha.
